Irwin Hand Brace Long Ship Auger Bits have single cutter and side lips designed to bore holes in wood where nails may be encountered, and cuts through nails without damaging the bit.

The full-length heat treated bit guards against bending in heavy-duty applications and strengthens the twist where the greatest strain occurs, while the wide lands help keep the bit straight as it bores.

The hollow center flutes clear chips quickly out of holes, while the medium-fast screw point is ideal for general wood-boring applications.
All bits have a 12" twist length and an 18" overall length,and can be resharpened.
