The Pole Choker 5 is a Wood pole climbing fall arrest system. Made with a drop-forged tongue buckle on a six-ply neoprene impregnated webbing, the Pole Choker meets all the requirements for a type A Positioning Strap in ASTM F887-04 and Class D Linemen’s Pole Strap in CSA Z259.11-05
The yellow nylon Choker Strap is a key component of the Jelco Pole Choker 5 Fall Prevention System. It is adjustable, helping the worker to extend his reach in a safer manner. The 1-3/4 inch wide strap squeezes the pole, forcing the roller's teeth to dig in to provide the gripping force required to prevent the wearer from falling down the pole. When the choker strap is disconnected, it functions the same as a standard pole strap.
The Pole Choker can also be used to secure a ladder to a neutral cable or to secure the worker to the ladder. It is the widest used fall restricting device in North America due to how user-friendly and easy this device is to learn how to operate.
The Pole Choker can also be fitted with a Jelco belt-mounted retractable device for climbing past an obstacle.
